I first started as a Mortgage Broker with Wizard Home Loans back in 2001 and currently own the Sydney CBD Branch of Yellow Brick Road on Bligh St Sydney.
I love what I do as there are not too many businesses where you can offer advice, support and direction to your clients without charging them anything.
Everyone wins in our industry! The client gets assistance fulfilling their dream or investment strategy, the funder makes a margin on the money they lend and for that benefit the mortgage broker gets paid by them... As I said everyone benefits!

Q: I'm looking at a 1 bedroom apartment for an investment, what percentage of the value will I be able to borrow? I don't see the benefit of it is too low to have the property negatively geared.

A: Hi John the loan to value ratio will depend on two main criteria's 1. What is the internal size of the unit? & 2. Is the unit strata or company title?
