Is buying off the plan right for you?

When you think about buying off the plan you probably got images of a city location, plenty of spade, a modern design, quality appliances and good amenities. Sounds all very inviting, doesn’t it?
Buying off the plan can deliver a number of benefits in terms of saving money and time as well as lifestyle choices.
Here are a couple of the benefits worth considering:
* Modern features and peace of mind no one has ever lived in the property before
* Customised finishes and fitting which can save you time in finding what you like and money as it forms part of the purchase price of the property.
You then need to consider a couple of questions
* Does apartment living suit your lifestyle? It’s not for everyone especially if you’ve been used to living in a house with outdoor areas. Many modern developments appreciate space and come with rooftops gardens and wrap around balconies
* What amenities are important to you and how secure are the apartments? Does the development have a gym, pool tables, wine bar, café, reading room, TV Cinema room and heaven forbid a karaoke pod within the boundaries.
* Is the development in a location you’d be happy to live? How convenient is it to your work, can you walk or is it close to public transport. How far away are the local restaurants and your soon to be favourite barista and coffee? Are family and friends close by?
The above should all form part of your shopping list before you make any decision to move forward.
If you are buying an apartment off the plan for investment purposes than some of the above questions will apply but there are a couple of others you would need to consider.
