We have offices in two locations being both Penrith and Blue Mountains
How long have you been in the finance industry?
Since 2002
Is there any particular part of the finance industry you specialise in?
You mean apart from home loans? Just having 15 years under your belt means you are well versed in a range of different lending scenarios. I know that not everyone is a round peg so I love that everyone is unique and everyone needs specialised and personal lending advice. That’s what I specialise in.
What do you do for your customers that sets you apart from other brokers?
I pride myself on really understanding what my customer's goals and dreams are and that is what I focus on. Customers can buy a home loan online if they really wanted but I am all for making the dream a reality. These days I am also working really closely with a group of new to industry brokers in my team so as a business we can provide more lending advice to more customers and have an even greater range of knowledge across the board
What role does communication play in helping you operate a successful business?
It is the core and centre of all that we do. I make sure my team keep all stakeholders well abreast on the home loan application journey and have built our own in-house Service Level Agreements which keeps us on track with our communication. You’ll never be left wondering at what stage you’re at, or what you should be doing next.
What would you say to first home buyers who are struggling to get into the property market?
As Nike would say, just do it! Just re-think what is important and if it's long-term financial security that you are after then work hard to make it happen. Start small and think big later. Look at smaller properties or even a unit, look to move out of newly populated areas into older areas, go home to mum and dad for a while and save your backside off! And then come and live in the Mountains, you’ll thank me for it later I know!
What’s the most important lesson you’ve learned in business?
To keep learning, never stop learning and never stop caring
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve received?
You can’t achieve that, cause I love nothing more than proving people wrong
What are your favourite hobbies?
I love hanging out with my beautiful but now grown up family. Travelling is my new addiction and I can’t go past a good Sauvignon Blanc from the land of the long white cloud.
