What is your occupation and what services do you provide?
I am a partner in a Finance Brokerage providing services to both residential and commercial clients.
Residential Finance – Home and investment loans (Purchase/Refinance/Equity Release)
Asset Finance – Equipment and car loans
Commercial Finance – SME cash flow loans, development and construction loans, commercial purchases/refinance

Is there any particular part of the finance industry you specialise in?
There are two different areas that Lend Perspective specialises in:
1. We work closely with Financial Planners/Accountants –
We specialise in working with Financial Planners and Accountants and see ourselves as an adjunct to their business, acting as an advisory board to their clients rather than focusing purely on the current transaction.
We understand the various different financial planning strategies such as debt recycling, utilising borrowed money to build wealth, and harnessing cash flow to reduce inefficient debt. Due to our extensive knowledge, we are able to provide the most appropriate debt solution that directly ties into the holistic strategy being undertaken.
Much like our approach with financial planning clients, we understand the many different accounting strategies and the end-goal that is sought for the client. We don't only focus on residential lending as we understand that the majority of accounting clients are SMEs that have commercial needs. We ensure that we get a complete understanding of the client and structure the debt that is the most befitting for them both personally and for their business.
2. We understand the complex –
Having a background in Credit with the one of the Big 4, we understand the many different forms of complex lending whether it is a complex trading structure, complex income streams, complex purpose or a mixture of all of three, we can understand the detail and find an appropriate solution.
What do you do for your customers that sets you apart from other brokers?
We are a solutions based team that strives to provide an exceptional customer experience. Our belief has always been that we need to work closely with our clients in order to gain a deep understanding of their unique financial situations and provide the most appropriate advice so that they can achieve their financial goals - acting more like their financial coach than a traditional transactional mortgage broker.
We also believe that a client should be for life, so we ensure that we provide an ongoing service and touch base with our existing clients regularly to ensure that their current lending is the most appropriate and competitive in the market.
What role does communication play in helping you operate a successful business?
There would be no business without open, transparent and regular communication. I would rather over communicate (if there is such a thing) with a client than be a closed door, we always keep our clients informed in a very timely manner.
I operate under a sunset clause which means that if someone has contacted me then I will get back to them on the same day.
What would you say to first home buyers who are struggling to get into the property market?
It’s definitely not an easy market to enter at the moment and appropriate advice is key when trying to enter the market as quickly as possible. Find a reliable and trusted mortgage broker that will take the time to understand your holistic goals, needs and objectives and will tailor their advice/solution to help you make those goals a reality. Being educated about the lending climate and the current market is crucial to be able to enter the property market not only to be able to do it as quickly as possible but to also do it correctly.
Other trusted experts can also help you set out a plan to ensure that you are tracking well to your goals and objectives.
Ask your Mortgage Broker if they work with a trusted adviser that they could referrer you to for some additional advice.
What’s the most important lesson you’ve learned in business?
Probably two valuable lessons:
1. Don’t assume that everyone has the same story, motivation or problems – everyone is fighting their own battles so take the time to understand everyone individually.
2. Family comes first – family is the most important so ensure that you always have them as a top priority.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve received?
Plan in decades. Think in years. Work in months. Live in days.
What are your favourite hobbies?
Reading, tennis, rock climbing, hiking and adventure activities (like skydiving)
