I hold a health care card for my 14 year old daughter and I receive the carers allowance from Centrelink....does this make me eligible for a reduced court fee when filing for divorce?

Hi Susan,
There are reduced fees for some of the filings and applications but I’m certainly no expert at this. Centrelink would be your best source of accurate information.
Best of luck

You are entitled to apply for an exemption of court fees – General if:
you hold any of the following cards issued by the Department of Human Services: health care card, pensioner concession card, Commonwealth seniors health card or any other card issued by the Department of Human Services or the Department of Veterans’ Affairs that certifies your entitlement to Commonwealth health concessions

Health care card may be sufficient but it may also questions about your husbands finances if you are lodging a joint divorce application. The Court has a pretty helpful phone service if you are prepared to risk the wait- it can be pleasantly short but not always....
