I’m interested to get some advice on the questions I should be asking real estate agents before making a decision on who to choose to help sell our home?
Responses
Things I think you should be asking include the following;
Can you show me a recent property sales report to show what the house is worth?
How long has the property been on the market?
Are there any known issues with the property, land or neighbours’ properties?
How long have you been a Real Estate Agent for?
What makes you different to other real estate agents?
The estate agent is working for the vendor (the seller) so is only going to disclose information in the best interests of the vendor.
Hi David
You could always ask them to provide contact details for a couple of their recent clients. If they are reluctant to provide you with these references then that would be a red flag in my view. It's always useful to speak to someone else who has used them before as they will be able to tell you what they liked about the agent (and anything they didn't).
Good luck!
